I made red velvet cake for the first time this week. The batter is the grossest looking thing ever. It was blood red and pretty much looked like spaghetti sauce. I also think I messed the recipe up somewhere because mine turned out tasting about like stale bread. I'm sticking to box cake mixes for now.
